The Problem

Some trial lawyers file lawsuits targeting small businesses over minor or technical violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act, often seeking quick settlements rather than genuine accessibility improvements.

ATRA’s Position

Amend ADA enforcement rules to require notice-and-cure periods before lawsuits can be filed, encouraging compliance without punishing small businesses unfairly.
