Nisiama will coordinate media outreach, digital strategy and content supporting ATRA’s national reform agenda

The American Tort Reform Association today announced that Olenka Nisiama has joined its staff full time as public affairs and digital strategy associate, a new position to support the Association’s successful public affairs program.

“Olenka has spent more than a year helping ATRA tell the story of what lawsuit abuse costs American families and job creators, and she has done it with great skill,” American Tort Reform Association President Tiger Joyce said. “Bringing her on full time gives us the capacity to move the needle in the civil justice reform movement in all 50 states.”

Nisiama joined ATRA as a public affairs intern in May 2025, writing press releases, social media content, and designing ad collateral, infographics and more.

She earned her Master of Public Policy, with an emphasis in economic policy, from George Mason University’s Schar School of Policy and Government in May 2026, where she received the Dean’s Fellow Award and helped found the Schar School Policy Journal as a board member and senior editor. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communications and journalism from Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas in Lima, Peru.
